SCALE MODELS

RUMPELSTILTSKIN

I made this model for my Introduction to Production Design class wherein we had to re-envision the story of Rumpelstiltskin in a different time period. My group chose the 1920s (or the roaring 20s) as it effectively related to the idea of spinning gold out of straw which in turn was a reminder of the luxurious consumerist lifestyle before the Great Depression. I was tasked with designing and making the model that employed a sort of discordant ambience of past affluence. This is depicted by the worn out walls, staircase and balustrades that give a tavern-like feel.

Courtyard house

The Courtyard House was also made for my intro class. I designed a typical Maharashtrian house with a coutryard surrounded by an arcade and living quarters. The center attracts the eye with a floor decoration and wall piece just after the main entrance. In addition, I added lights to the model to convey the aesthetic during night.
